§ 9-115. Interruption, resumption of service.

  • If the electrical inspector is aware of electrical work being done in the city, and if no permit has been obtained for such work, he shall, by registered letter, notify the party in whose name the electrical service is supplied according to the electric supply company records, that such party shall obtain a permit. If, after ten (10) days, no permit has been obtained, the electrical inspector shall notify the electric supply company to discontinue electrical service, and same shall not be restored until the permit is obtained. During the ten-day period, the owners of the premises involved may show the electrical inspector that the electrical work is not such that it comes under the provisions of this chapter, and does not require a permit. Under such circumstances, the electric service shall not be discontinued and no permit shall be required.
