§ 9-162. Electrical load calculations.

  • (a)

    For any new electrical construction or additions to existing structures a diagram and load calculation based on Article 220 of the National Electrical Code shall be submitted to the city building inspection department for approval.

    (b)

    For buildings or structures of less than five thousand (5,000) square feet in area or not exceeding two (2) floors above ground level, it shall be permissible for a licensed master electrician to submit the load calculation. Included with this load calculation will be his signature and license number.

    (c)

    For buildings or structures of greater than five thousand (5,000) square feet in area or exceeding two (2) floors above ground level, a licensed professional engineer shall submit the load calculation, per the Texas Engineering Practice Act, Sections 19 and 20(f).
