§ 9-82. Duties generally.

  • A master electrician shall supervise, direct and control all electrical work for whomever he works. He must physically inspect each job for which he has a valid permit to ensure that all work complies with the National Electrical Code and ordinances of the city. He must furnish a semiannual report to the city electrical inspection department including the names of all electricians who worked for him or his employer. The master electrician is held responsible for obtaining licenses for his employees. He must make sure that not more than two (2) apprentices for each journeyman are working on residential jobs and not more than one (1) apprentice for each journeyman is working on commercial jobs. An apprentice may not work without the presence of a journeyman. The master electrician must also be available to meet with the electrical inspector during the electrical inspector's regular working hours.
