§ 30-37. Effect of transfer; moving.

Latest version.
  • Transfer of deposits from one (1) location to another location within the city is allowed for utility service if the following prerequisites are followed:

    (a)

All utility bills at the old address, delinquent and current, shall be paid in full.

    (b)

Connection of the new service and disconnection from the old service must be completed within a fifteen-day period.

    (c)

A new application must be completed before service at the new address is connected.

    (d)

If the security deposit is higher at the new address than the customer's previous service address, either due to change in ordinance and/or type of property, an additional cash deposit will be required before service will be transferred.

    (e)

If the security deposit is lower than at the customers' previous service address, then the city may, at its option, apply any cash deposit on hand to the balance due for the previous account and refund the difference, if any, to the customer, and require a new security deposit for the new account.

In the event that the above prerequisites are not accomplished, than any transfer request shall be required to post the deposit in effect at the time of the request.
