§ 29-52. Emergency and experimental regulations; approval of director.

  • (a)

    The chief of police, by and with the approval of the director of planning and transportation, is hereby empowered to make and enforce such emergency and/or experimental traffic regulations, for a period not to exceed forty-eight (48) hours, as may be necessary to prevent or correct any hazardous condition.

    (b)

    The chief of police, by and with the approval of the city council is hereby empowered to make and enforce such regulations as may be necessary to cover emergencies or special conditions. No such temporary or experimental regulation shall remain in effect longer than thirty (30) days unless the approval of the city council is renewed.
